Our live classes require an 8 student minimum to hold the training. Please email the school at info@CeInstitute.com prior to making arrangements to attend this training, to ensure we have the minimum attendance required to hold it.

Please use a computer and stable/hard-wired internet connection to virtually attend. Please do NOT use any cellular, weak/spotty WIFI connections, outdated/broken computers or lesser devices such a CELL PHONE. There is no student device/connection tech support available. We have had hundreds of students attend our webinars with impossible tech issues beyond our control. As such, we no longer stop class for a student's tech issues. Any student experiencing tech issues is required to fix them on their own, without disrupting class.

For live interactive board compliance CE training, we require students to check-in and interact with the instructor on a minimum hourly basis via the webinar chat box, polls and/or other interactive requests. Students who do not have solid computer experience or an appropriate computer device/connection should attend a live in-person class instead. Our webinars require basic computer skills, equipment and a solid internet connection to login, attend and interact. Any student who ignores instructions, displays disrespectful/inappropriate conduct or repeatedly/inappropriately disrupts class for any reason, including personal tech issues, will be dismissed. Please respect that webinars are group training sessions that cannot be monopolized by one student.

This live webinar is approved by NCBTMB, FL, NY, SC, GA, NH, MI & TN boards of massage,  FL Board of OT, FL Board of Nursing  and all states that accept NCBTMB hours. Most boards only provide GENERAL CE credit with online training. FL Board of Massage no longer accepts online training for relevant/hands-on CE hour requirements. Please check with your specific board about your CE needs PRIOR TO registering or paying, if you're seeking this training for board specific CE credit.  There is a $25 cancellation fee to cancel for any reason, plus 7-days notice is required prior to the start of training to change or cancel, or else there is no refund. Please click HERE to view all of our school FAQs & Policies.

To help prevent human trafficking abuses, training fraud and more, licensees must purchase training with their own payment method in their own licensed name which MATCHES their license # for CE reporting.  Please do not allow anyone other than the student/licensee to purchase, contribute, take or complete any element of this training. Self-reporting your own CE hours is required when the licensed name does not match the student's registered name for ANY reason.

This 6 CE Hour Trigger Point Therapy Live Interactive Webinar Class Reviews:

  • what is a trigger point
  • how to find trigger points
  • common places where trigger points are found
  • extensive review of human anatomy and musculature
  • how to apply pressure to relieve trigger points (and pain)
  • instructor demonstrations of individual trigger point application, entry point, amount of pressure to be used and length of time to hold trigger points
  • hands-on practice time of trigger point application
  • stories and reviews of trigger point theory
  • communication skills and practices with clients when applying trigger point therapy
  • includes a history review of the 1st female physician to a U.S. President and a "founder" of Trigger Point Therapy: Dr. Janet Travell

This year, we added multiple hand-outs with this class that include anatomical and manual therapy pictures to show how and where to apply pressure in the body where common trigger points are found, and HOW pressure is commonly applied to relieve them.  By the end of class, you should be able to identify common trigger point sites and know how to apply pressure to the area to relieve the trigger point!

For your live webinar training, most of the trigger points that we will work on will be within reach of the student’s own hands on their own body; however, for an **enhanced training experience**, students may want to purchase a therapy cane if they do not already have one. Therapy canes cost on average between $20 to $35, and they are a valuable lifelong tool a therapist can use to care for themselves. You do not need a therapy cane to take this class; however, there are some trigger points you might not be able to reach on yourself during hands-on practice time without the cane.  The boards also do not require that you practice hands-on skills during the webinar to receive CE credit or a certificate - you're only requirement is to watch, listen and attend the entire webinar.

Your trigger point webinar training will also include intra-oral work (briefly inside your own mouth). Students should have a way to sanitize their hands pre and post intra-oral work during the webinar. And because intra-oral work is not recommended on others during the COVID pandemic, and because the instructor will be focused on your technique moreso than a live model’s response to the work, it is best for students to solely work on themselves during this incredible online training experience in trigger point therapy.

We feel it is BEST to use your HANDS to practice trigger point therapy especially when working with clients.  However, we also feel that using a therapy cane will be valuable tool to find, feel and learn more about trigger point therapy during your online webinar.

Here's some more information about attending our live webinars:

  • Quality Student Files & Access: We email login info to your webinar approximately 2-weeks prior to the start of training. Our written hands-on procedures and modality workbooks are available to download/save when you login to the webinar account.  We provide a wonderful amount of written student support materials to supplement your live webinar. You can view, download or print these student files/materials before or during the webinar. Access to these student files EXPIRES, and is no longer available at the end of webinar training, so it is imperative to download, save and secure these files in a safe place before or during class!

  • Live Question & Answer with Your Instructor:  You can ask questions of the instructor during the webinar in the chat box. Because this is a group training, any individual questions/comments will be addressed with the entire class listening. Verbally chatting out loud with instructors or amongst students is not available. The instructor is usually the only attendee with an active microphone.

  • Practice Along with Your Instructor:  When possible, we provide students the opportunity to practice hands-on techniques on themselves and/or on a healthy live model, while simultaneously watching instructor demonstrations. Your instructor can view and provide some feedback of hands-on techniques when your camera is focussed within 4 feet of the hands-on application. We will email when live model practice times might be available, a couple weeks prior to the start of training. Please do not practice on pregnant women, ill or medically deteriorated/complicated models during training.

  • Know the Limits of Online Training: Visually inspecting/directing hands-on practice via any computer-based training is not precise, and less effective than in-person training. We are unable to obtain model feedback during webinars, and cannot determine a student's pressure or other hands-on practice skills.  As such, CE Institute LLC, the instructor(s), staff and other students is not responsible for injury or harm from hands-on practice or training. Students must always practice within their licensed scope, and ensure it is safe and comfortable for the model/client. Students should follow up with in-person training or individual tutoring with a qualified instructor to verify their hands-on practice is appropriate when learning hands-on applications.

  • Webinars Run Simultaneously with In-person Class. Most of our live webinars are broadcast from live in-person training, so it's almost like being in class with other in-person students. While webinar attendance does not count for in-person training with most states or boards, attendees can benefit from hearing questions and answers from a greater student body with simultaneous broadcast.

  • Student Expectations: We are a top provider and well-versed with in-person and online bodywork CE training; however, perfection is difficult and unforeseen issues can arise. We always try our best for our students. Please provide the respect and patience we need to do the best possible job for you!

  • Requirements & Voluntary Quizzes: We run quizzes with answers within our webinar software to review training. These quizzes are optional, fun, interactive exercises that do not count towards certification or CE hours. Your only requirement is to watch 100% of your webinar and interact with the instructor when requested, to receive CE hours and a certificate. Hands-on practice is not required. Your CE certificate will be emailed within a few days of your webinar's conclusion.

6 CE Hour Trigger Point Therapy FL CE Broker Course #20-761337

_______________

This Trigger Point Therapy class was written by CE Institute LLC Founder, Selena Belisle.  Selena teaches the majority of Trigger Point classes at CE Institute LLC (specifically when they do not list another one of our master instructors such as Ben Benjamin or Wendy Langen).

Selena has been practicing massage therapy for 30 years.  She started with sports massage in 1989 when she was competing on Team USA in the Athens Greece Olympic Stadium for her 1st World Championship title.  She went on to win 3 WAF World Titles in Arm Wresting and other various minor sport titles.  After the height of her professional athletic career, Selena sought formal “full body” massage therapy training in 1995 in a 1,000+ hour program at the Massage Institute of New England in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  Performing myofascial release and trigger point therapy was a core part of the Massage Institute’s curriculum. Selena went on to receive multiple live class NMT Certifications from 1997 to 1999 in Paul St. John Neuromuscular Therapy.  One of the most basics foundations of our NMT work from the 1990s was to relieve trigger points for optimal function and well-being.  She has also completed live class certifications in Myofascial Release with John Barnes (1990s), Robert King (2001) and George Kousaleos of the CORE Institute (2000), plus a series of online introductory courses in Anatomy Trains with Tom Myers (2016), another series of online theoretical myofascial technique courses with Til Lachua (from 2015 to 2018) and several other clinical, pain relief, trigger point and myofascial online classes with Theresa Schmidt, DPT, MS, OCS, LMT, CEAS, CHY, DD (from 2016 to 2017), amongst many other live and online classes in various modalities.  You can view a more complete list of Selena’s accolades including her publications, training and experience by clicking HERE.

Selena feels that it is often helpful to study Trigger Point Therapy & Myofascial Release modalities together – even though they are VERY DIFFERENT modalities and applications.  Selena has extensive experience in successfully applying these modalities when she worked on various athletes from the New England Patriots during the time that they succeeded to legendary superstar status.  Selena also created one of New England’s largest alternative health care clinics in the 1990s, where thousands of customers sought natural pain relief remedies with these modalities for an entire decade, prior to her successful sale of the business to another chiropractor in 2005. She also spent another 5-years training and managing a 2nd staff as a Newbury Street Spa Owner in Boston, MA from 2005 to 2010.  Selena’s industry work history, training and teaching experience would be difficult to surpass.

Wendy Langen PA-C, MCMSc, LMT also teaches a large majority of our Trigger Point Therapy CE classes.  Wendy is a graduate of the Sarasota School of Massage Therapy and has been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 1992. Wendy returned to the Sarasota school as a licensed graduate to teach Anatomy and Physiology in the 90’s.

Wendy went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Clinical Medical Science from Barry University in 2000.  Today, she is a licensed and nationally-certified physician assistant. Wendy currently holds a primary faculty position at the Barry University Physician Assistant Program, in addition to teaching CE Classes part-time at CE Institute LLC.

Wendy has an extensive medical, teaching and research background that surpasses most massage therapy instructors.  She has worked in diagnostic medicine and has been repeatedly published in the medical community.  You can view more about Wendy’s accolades by clicking HERE.
