PLEASE DO NOT PURCHASE THIS NONREFUNDABLE, TIME-SENSITIVE COURSE UNLESS YOU ARE READY TO COMPLETE IT WITHIN 31-DAYS OF PURCHASE.  This course must be completed within 1-month of purchase, before it expires and your account is subsequently deactivated. Course access time is calculated from the minute of purchase. Please do not wait until the last couple of days to start or complete training, because no training extensions are available for any reason, including tech issues. We cannot alter, swap or change names on student accounts, certificates or school records for any reason, so please register for training in the student's name as you wish it to be printed on the CE certificate.

It is recommended to use a computer or laptop to take this computer based course. All of this training is provided via prerecorded video, with handouts as well as quiz(es) plus a course survey, to meet board requirements to issue CE credit. As such, cell phones and tablets are not recommended. We do not allow students to download our training videos; however, we provide extensive companion handout materials which students can download/print on their own before the training expires, and are no longer available. All of these instructions, such as where to download your handouts and more, will be provided as your first video tutorial of your paid training.

Students must pay for their own training in the same exact licensed name you would like printed on your certificate. Please double check for typos prior to paying, and do not pay for someone else's training or use nicknames, etc. Student names cannot be edited or changed after the fact, especially when the training is used for government relicensing purposes, and especially with online training where we never see or meet the student.

Our automated systems will send a course access link to your registered email address after purchase. You can also login to your paid training at lms.CeInstitute.com with your registered email address, and then use the "Forgot Password" link if you did not set up a password, or cannot remember it. We cannot extend course access time for any reason, so if you're experiencing any issues at any time, or have any questions whatsoever before or after purchase, please email us at info@CeInstitute.com for assistance. Response times to your email can take 24-48 business hours from the time we receive it.

This course is approved by NCBTMB, FL, SC, GA & TN boards of massage and all states that accept NCBTMB hours. FL Board accepts this home study course as its "regular" hands-on relevant to massage technique CE credit. If you are taking this for CE credit and unsure if this course meets your CE requirements, please check with your own board to ensure you will receive the credit you need PRIOR TO registering or paying.

To provide these massively discounted training prices, we require students to complete their coursework within a reasonable amount of time, as advertised, or else they will not receive CE credit or a certificate. Home study courses like this one can typically be completed within 2-3 day's time. We are able to maintain a quality, reliable and robust training platform with extreme discounts because we do not allow students to linger for excessive periods of time with unfinished coursework in our systems, beyond the additional weeks of access time we already provide with this purchase. Please email us PRIOR TO PURCHASE (info@CeInstitute.com) if you have special needs and/or disabilities that could impede your ability to complete online training as advertised, so that we can review your individual needs and reasonable options. Thanks so much and we hope you enjoy the training!

At the end of this class, you will have the foundation basics of how Neuromuscular Therapy is practiced with an extended knowledge of trigger point therapy.  This class is designed to help therapists provide more exact pain relief in targeted treatments instead of a regular full body massage service.

_____________

Most of the trigger points that we will work on will be within reach of the student’s own hands on their own body; however, for an **enhanced training experience**, students may want to purchase a therapy cane if they do not already have one. Therapy canes cost on average between $20 to $35, and they are a valuable lifelong tool a therapist can use to care for themselves.  You do not need a therapy cane to take this class; however, there are some trigger points you might not be able to reach on yourself during hands-on practice time without the cane.  The boards also do not require that you practice hands-on skills during the training to receive CE credit or a certificate - your only requirement is to watch, listen and attend the entire home study course.

Your trigger point training will also include intra-oral work (briefly inside your own mouth). Students should have a way to sanitize their hands pre and post intra-oral work during the training.

We feel it is BEST to use your HANDS to practice trigger point therapy especially when working with clients.  However, we also feel that using a therapy cane will be valuable tool to find, feel and learn more about trigger point therapy application.

This Neuromuscular Therapy & Trigger Point Therapy class was written and is taught by CE Institute LLC Founder, Selena Belisle.  Selena teaches the majority of our NMT and Trigger Point Classes at CE Institute LLC.  Wendy Langen also teaches several of our medical classes like this one as well.

Selena has been practicing Neuromuscular Therapy for 25 years and Massage Therapy for 30 years.  She started with sports massage when she was competing on Team USA in the Athens Greece Olympic Stadium for her 1st World Championship title in 1989.  She went on to win 3 WAF World Titles in Arm Wresting and other various minor sport titles.  After the height of her professional athletic career, Selena sought formal “full body” massage therapy training at the Massage Institute of New England in Cambridge, Massachusetts – which touched upon Neuromuscular Therapy in their 1000+ hour program in 1995.

In 1995, Selena also took her first class with Paul St. John at the American Massage Therapy Association National Convention in Boston, MA.  She went on to complete numerous Neuromuscular Therapy Certifications in Paul St. John NMT from 1997 to 1999.  She has also trained in the 1990s in Neuromuscular Therapy with David Kent.  Selena has additionally taken multiple online theoretical studies in structural integration and NMT with Theresa A. Schmidt, Judy Delany, Lu Mueller-Kaul, and Doug Nelson of Precision Neuromuscular Therapy.   A larger portion of executing NMT is by working on and relieving active trigger points.

Selena has spent decades training, practicing and teaching NMT, trigger point therapy, deep tissue techniques, myofascial release, postural integration and other integrative bodyworks.  With this experience, Selena created a style of postural evaluation and easy/quasi “fix-it” routines for a quick, simplified practice of NMT.  Selena’s NMT classes are for beginner to intermediate skill level practitioners.  Selena recommends intermediate to advanced NMT training classes from Theresa Schmidt, Judy Delany, David Kent or Lu Mueller-Kaul.
