Please do not register for this course unless you are able to complete it within 2-weeks of purchase, because no training extension can be provided for any reason. We offer extremely discounted training, and maintain a robust and reliable online training system, because we do not allow students to linger in our home study system for excessive periods of time with unfinished coursework which would overload our systems during this busy time of year, and also increase our costs and prices.

This course is approved by NCBTMB, FL, SC, GA & TN boards of massage and all states that accept NCBTMB hours. FL Board accepts this homestudy course as its "regular" hands-on relevant to massage technique CE credit for the Aug 31, 2023 license renewal period.

If you are taking this training for CE credit outside of Florida, please check with your own board to ensure you will receive the credit you need PRIOR TO registering or paying for this class. Homestudy training is nonrefundable and this course must be completed within 14-days of purchase or else it will expire.

It is recommended to use a computer or laptop to take this computer based course. Cell phones and tablets are not well equipped to host a multi-hour online training, regardless of manufacturer claims.

After purchase, an email will be sent to you with your course access. Please check your email within 5-minutes of purchase for your online access, and immediately contact us at info@CeInstitute.com if you do not receive it so that we can resend your login information. We do not provide longer access times to training for any reason, so if you're experiencing issues, please email us immediately for assistance. Thank you.

This 18 CE Hour Sports Event Massage with Active Assisted FULL BODY Stretching (AAS) starts with sports work taught by retired professional athlete, Selena Belisle. Training includes working with athletes and teaches a basic sports massage event routine and other athletically inclined work.  1/3 of this course is focused upon Sports Massage Event Training, including:

  • Sporting Massage Event Intake Process
  • How to setup for Sporting Event Massage
  • How to Perform Quick Turnover & Sanitation Techniques at Sporting Events
  • A 10-15 minutes Sports Massage Routine to be performed clothed at Sporting Events
  • Review of Muscle Movement, Contraction & Stretch Reflex (or lack of in extreme athletes)
  • How to Relieve Muscle Cramping with Hands-on Practice of Reciprocal Inhibition
  • Review of Thermal Therapy & Cryotherapy Practices in Sports (includes how to make cyrotherapy packs from household goods for sports strains and sprains)
  • Recognizing Heat Exhaustion and Heat Stroke in Athletes

The last 12 hours of this intensive, hands-on workshop teaches you a comprehensive, effective stretching protocol that can be performed on your clients in 50-60-minute sessions for the full body, which is taught by Ben Benjamin, PhD. Active Assisted Active Assisted Stretching (AAS) energizes the body, enhances the health of the tissues, increases flexibility, protects the body from injury, enhances the healing process, re-aligns the fascia and makes building strength more effective. Active Assisted Stretching is especially good for athletes, the elderly, and the injured, and can also benefit the neurologically impaired.

What sets AAS apart from other stretching routines is it is not overly strenuous to the practitioner and it is easy to learn.

The client actively participates in the stretching process, with a gentle, timed, targeted assist from the therapist at the end of every stretch to increase range of motion along with many other benefits. These techniques are much easier on the therapist’s body than massage and bodywork.

The upper body stretches include the neck, shoulders, arms, wrists and hands.

The lower body stretches include the low back, hip, thigh, knee, lower leg, foot and ankle. To perform the lower body stretches, we recommend investing in a stretching strap of any kind plus a special seat belt to affix the client to the table. These can be purchased at Stretchingusa.com. Similar straps can be found on amazon and other retailers. Feel free to order straps after the training or not at all - the choice is yours!
